Many family sessions take place in warm weather (well warmer than the weather we have been having lately), but there are still some great options when it is cold outside! Newborn and baby sessions are always great this time of year since those can be easily shot indoors with available light. Depending on the ages of your children, playing outside in the snow and then coming in for hot cocoa would make a wonderful session. Baking cookies together or any other family tradition works too!
Another option is to travel to an indoor location with lots of windows and great lighting. The Main Branch of the Indianapolis Library is a great location for an indoor photo shoot. Ultimately any type of shoot can be achieved no matter what the weather with some creative thinking and a little planning. Enjoy the snow!
